Warranty

Applies To: Focalab-branded hardware products, including Vario devices and eligible accessories (“Products”) purchased from:
  • The official Focalab online store
  • authorized distributors
  • other official sales channels
unless otherwise stated.

1. Your Legal Rights

This Limited Warranty does not affect your statutory rights under the consumer protection laws of your country, state, province, or region.
The terms of this policy apply to the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law.
If the warranty terms in this policy provide less coverage than mandatory local law, the mandatory local law will prevail.

2. How to Obtain a Warrant Service

If your Product does not function properly during the Warranty Period, please contact our support team.

When contacting us, please provide:
  • a valid order number or other proof of purchase
  • the Product model and serial number
  • A description of the issue
  • photos or videos if available

Remote Troubleshooting

Before arranging physical service, we may attempt to diagnose and resolve the issue remotely, including through:
  • email support
  • online chat
  • video troubleshooting
  • system logs
If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, we may instruct you to ship the Product or specific components to a designated service center.

Our Warrant Remedies

If your claim is valid under this Limited Warranty, Focalab may, at its sole discretion and to the extent permitted by law:
  • provide replacement parts for self-repair, or
  • authorize a return for repair, or
  • provide a replacement product, or
  • issue a refund if repair or replacement is not commercially reasonable
Repair or replacement may use:
  • new parts, or
  • refurbished parts of equal functionality
Important: Replacement parts or replacement Products do not restart the original Warranty Period, unless required by local law.

3. What This Limited Warranty Covers

This Limited Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use during the Warranty Period, subject to the exclusions described below.

4. What This Warrant Does Not Cover

This Limited Warranty does not apply to the following:

Expired Warranty

  • Products or components outside the Warranty Period

Unauthorized Purchases

  • Products purchased from non-authorized sellers

Normal Wear and Cosmetic Changes

  • cosmetic changes
  • discoloration
  • normal wear and tear

Improper Use or Handling

Damage caused by:
  • misuse, abuse, negligence, or accidents
  • failure to follow the official user manual
  • improper installation or maintenance
  • incorrect connection or disconnection of external devices
  • drops, impacts, crushing, or excessive external force

Environmental Damage

Exposure to:
  • extreme temperatures
  • solvents, acids, or alkalis
  • water or excessive humidity
  • corrosion

Foreign Objects or Contamination

Damage caused by:
  • dust contamination
  • insects or rodents
  • foreign objects entering the device

Unauthorized Repair or Modification

Damage resulting from:
  • repairs performed by unauthorized technicians
  • product modifications
  • opening or altering the device housing

Tampered Identification Information

Products whose serial numbers or labels are:
  • removed
  • altered
  • tampered with

Missing Proof of Purchase

Cases where valid purchase documentation cannot be provided.


Unauthorized Software

Damage caused by:
  • illegal software
  • unofficial firmware
  • non-standard system modifications

Third-Party Components

Damage caused by unauthorized third-party parts or consumables.
Use of third-party parts does not automatically void the warranty, but damage caused by them is not covered.

Cyber or Security Incidents

Damage caused by:
  • malware
  • hacking
  • malicious attacks

Force Majeure

Events beyond reasonable control, including:
  • fire
  • floods
  • earthquakes
  • natural disasters

Shipping Damage

Damage occurring during shipping if packaging instructions were not followed.

Non-Defect Issues

Issues that are not caused by defects in materials or workmanship, including:
  • minor interruptions
  • occasional software errors
  • inherent technical limitations disclosed in documentation

5. Additional Notes

  • Packaging materials, freebies, consumables, and certain accessories may not be covered by this warranty.
  • If items are damaged upon arrival (DOA), we may provide a replacement at our discretion.
  • Focalab is not responsible for commitments made by third-party sellers that are not confirmed by us in writing.
  • For discontinued products, repair services or spare parts may become unavailable after a publicly announced service end date.
If a separate after-sales service agreement applies, that agreement will take precedence.

6. Shipping and Data Responsibility

During warranty service:
  • Focalab will assume responsibility for transit only when we arrange shipping or provide a shipping label.
You are responsible for:
  • backing up personal data
  • removing sensitive information
before sending the product for service.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Focalab will not be liable for:
  • personal injury
  • loss of profits
  • loss of data
  • business interruption
  • any indirect or consequential damages
arising from the use or inability to use the Product, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so this section may not apply to you.

8. Relationship to Consumer Law

This Limited Warranty provides specific legal rights, and you may have additional rights depending on your jurisdiction.
Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes consumer rights required by law.

9. Exclusive Warranty Remedies

To the extent permitted by law, this Limited Warranty and the remedies described herein are exclusive and replace all other warranties, whether:
  • express
  • implied
  • statutory
  • oral or written
Where allowed by law, Focalab disclaims all implied warranties, including:
  • merchantability
  • fitness for a particular purpose

10. Warranty Period Overview

Warranty Start Date

The Warranty Period begins on the date you receive the Product.
If a valid invoice is unavailable, the start date may default to the shipping date from our warehouse, unless local law requires otherwise.

Replacement Parts

Replacement parts do not reset the original warranty period unless required by law.

Laser Component Notes

Laser performance may decline over time depending on:
  • usage
  • environment
  • maintenance
  • material types
Performance degradation within normal limits is not considered a defect.

11. Paid Repair Services

If repair is outside the warranty period, service fees may include:
  • service call fee
  • replacement parts cost
  • labor charges
Costs may vary depending on location and service provider.

12. Policy Updates

This policy may vary depending on local laws and regulations.
Focalab reserves the right to interpret, modify, or update this Limited Warranty to the extent permitted by law.
